If you have an upcoming court date, you’ll need to know where your West Palm Beach case will be tried. There are two sets of courts, and which court you’ll visit depends on the type of criminal case.
Circuit Criminal
This court handles felony cases filed in Palm Beach County such as:
- Burglary
- Homicide
- Robbery
- Sex offenses
- Drug charges
- Forgery
- Child abuse
Circuit Criminal Court is in room 3.2400 on the 3rd floor of the Main Courthouse, located at:
205 N. Dixie Hwy.
West Palm Beach, FL 33401
From the website, you can also:
- View your court case, court dates, and costs due, and purchase certified copies of documents.
- E-File documents
- Make payments
Many court records are available and searchable online for free. You can also call the courthouse at 561-355-2994 for information on felony cases from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
County Criminal
This court handles less serious cases, such as:
- Parking tickets and other traffic violations
- Animal-related infractions
- Marine infractions
- County and municipal ordinances and misdemeanors
- Other cases with mandatory court appearances
There are five County Criminal locations, including the main courthouse, where you can make fine payments and enter “not guilty” pleas.
You can also do searches, online payments, and E-File documents for County Criminals as you can for Circuit Criminals.
E-Notify
Palm Beach’s Courts also utilize E-Notify to send text and email reminder messages about upcoming court dates and events. It is not an official court record; those come from the court itself. The system sends notifications for both criminal misdemeanor and felony cases, including criminal traffic cases.
Users can sign up with either a cell number or an email address (or both.) The service is free to sign up for and use and is separate from the online court searching system. Anyone can sign up for a free account, and it takes just a few minutes to create yours. E-Notify is a courtesy service provided by the Florida Supreme Court.
